Ver. 45. Thou haſt made us as the off-ſcouring] Eradicationem ſaith the Vulgar: raſuram potius, not the rooting out, but the ſcrapings off. As the Jews did rather extrinſecus radere peccata quam intrinſecus eradicare, Bern. Exverras, Scobes & ramenta. Excreamenta & excrementa. ſhave off their ſinnes outwardly then root them out from within: ſo God made them as deſpicable as the parings of a pavement, or of a leprous houſe.
