Matthew17:22
Verse 22. The Sonne of man shall be betray'd] This our Saviour often inculcates, to drive them out of their golden dream of an earthly kingdom: which pleased them so well, that they could hardly foregoe it. It is no easie matter to be disabused, undeceived: errour once admitted is not expelled without much adoe. It sticks to our fingers like pitch: take heed how we meddle.
