Matthew21:45
Verse 45. They [illegible: 1 word] that he spake of them] Who told them so, but their own guilty consciences? Every man hath a [illegible: 1 word] Chaplain within his own bosome, that preacheth over the Sermon to him again, and comes over him with, Thou art the [illegible: 1 word]. Conscience is said to accuse or excuse in the mean while, [non-Latin text not transcribed]. [illegible: 1 word]. 2. 15. In the [illegible: 1 word] betwixt [illegible: 1 word] and Sermon, conviction and conviction. So that personall and nominall application is therefore needlesse, [illegible: 1 word] every man hath a [illegible: 1 word] faculty within him, applying severall truths to every mans particular [illegible: 1 word]. And, [illegible: 1 word] gener [illegible: 1 word] de [illegible: 2 words] est, ibi [illegible: 4 words], saith [illegible: 1 word]; Where the discourse against vice is [illegible: 1 word], no man can justly complain of [illegible: 1 word] personall injury. By [illegible: 1 word], Christ many times smites the earth, Isa. 11. 4. that is, the [illegible: 1 word] of carnal men glued to the earth, Gods words [illegible: 1 word] them full in the teeth, and makes them spit [illegible: 1 word]. Now if they rage, as Tygres tear themselves at the noise of a drum, if they flee in the faces of their teachers, and [illegible: 2 words] upon them, they [illegible: 2 words] cast into a [illegible: 2 words], and [illegible: 1 word] escape the visible [illegible: 1 word] of God.
