Proverbs1:9

Verſ. 9. For they ſhall bee an ornament] Virgil. Plato. A mans wiſdome maketh his face to ſhine, Eccleſ. 8.1. Tum pietate gravem, &c. [non-Latin text not transcribed]. Neither gold, nor precious ſtone ſo gliſtereth, ſaith Plato, as the prudent mind of a pious perſon. Nothing ſo beautifies as grace doth; Moſes and Joſeph were fair to God, and favoured of all men. A Crown of Gold, a Chain of Pearl, are no ſuch Ornaments as are here commended.
