Proverbs13:14
Verſ. 14. The law of the wiſe is as a well of life] Or, the Law to the wiſe is a fountain, &c. whence he may draw the beſt directions and helps to holineſſe and happineſſe. It confines him to live in that element where hee would live, (as if one were confined to Paradiſe where hee would be) though there were no ſuch Law. The wicked, on the contrary, leaps over the pale after profit and pleaſure, and falls upon the ſnares of death; as Shimei ſought his Servants, loſt himſelf.
