Proverbs16:25
Verſ. 25. There is a way that ſeemeth right to a man] This wee had before, totidem verbis, Prov. 14.12. See the Note there. And think not this a vain repetition; but know, that it is thus redoubled, that it may bee the better remarked and remembred. Nothing is more ordinary, or more dangerous, than ſelf-deluſion. To deceive another is naught, but to deceive thy ſelf (which yet moſt men do) is much worſe; as to belye ones ſelf, kill ones ſelf, &c. is counted moſt abominable. To warn us therefore of this greateſt wickedneſſe, it is that this ſentence is re-iterated.
