Proverbs17:1
CHAP. XVII. Verſ. 1. Better is a dry morſel, and quietneſs therewith]
THough there bee not ſo much as a little Vinegar to dip in. See Chap. 14.17. with the Note there. The Hebrew word properly ſignifies a morſel of bread, as Rabbi Elias tells us. So then, better is a cruſt of courſe bread without any other cates or diſhes (never ſo little, with love and peace) than an houſe-full of Sacrifices; that is, of good cheer, uſually at offering up of Sacrifices, Prov. 7.14. And hereunto Saint James ſeems to allude, Chap. 5.5.
