Verſ. 23. The poor uſeth intreaties] Speaks ſupplications, comes in a ſubmiſſe manner, uſes a low language, as a broken man. How much more ſhould we do ſo to God? quanta cum reverentia, quanto timore, Bern. quanta ad Deum humilitate accedere debet è palude ſua procedens & repens vilis ranuncula? creeping into his preſence with utmoſt humility and reverence.
