Proverbs22:2
Verſ. 2. The rich and the poor meet together] They have mutual need one of another, and meet many times, as it were, in the mid-way, by an alteration of their condition. They that were full were hired forth for bread, and the hungry are no more hired, 1 Sam. 2.5. The mighty are put down from their ſeats, and thoſe of low degree are exalted, Luk. 1.53.
The Lord is the maker of them all] The maker of the men, the maker of their eſtates, and the maker of that change and alteration which often happeneth; that the one might become grateful, the other humble. See Job 31.15.
