John Trapp on Proverbs 25:11

Verſ. 11. A word fitly ſpoken] Hebrew, ſpoken upon his weels, that is, rightly ordered and circumſtantiated, ſpoken with a grace, and in due place. It is an excellent skill to be able to time a word, Iſa. 50.4. to ſet it upon the wheels, as here. How good are ſuch words? Prov. 15.23. how forcible? Job 6.25. How pleaſant? even like apples of gold in pictures, or lattices, of ſilver, not onely precious for matter, Eccleſ. 12.10. but detectable for order, as gold put in a caſe of ſilver cut-work.
