Proverbs4:12
Verſ. 12. And when thou runnest] Having a good mixture of zeal and knowledge; ſo that thy zeal doth quicken thy knowledge, and thy knowledge guide thy zeal. For that the ſoul bee without knowledge, it is not good: And hee that (ſo) haſteth with his feet (being indiſcreetly zealous) ſinneth, Prov. 19.2.
Thou ſhalt not ſtumble] Or if thou do, thou ſhalt recover thy ſtumbling, and ſo get ground. But ſay thou do ſo ſtumble as to fall; in falling forwards is nothing ſo much danger as backward. So hee that is earneſt in good, though hee may carry ſome things indiſcreetly, yet is far better than an Apoſtate.
