Proverbs6:13
Verſ. 13. Hee winketh with his eyes] Hee is reſtleſs in evil, and with his odd tricks and geſticulations ſeeks to ſpread miſchief; even there, where hee dares not otherwiſe diſcover himſelf. Or the ſenſe may bee this: Though hee ſpeak froward things, though hee ſlander and detract, &c. to the hurt of the hearers, yet as if hee ſpake nothing but truth, and out of deep affection to the party, hee ſeeks to aſſure it by the conſtancy of his countenance, by the gravity of his gate, and by the motion of his fingers, to make beleeve that it is ſo indeed, when as in truth it is neither ſo, nor ſo.
