Proverbs8:8
Verſ. 8. All the words] The Rabbine have a ſaying, That there is a mountain of ſenſe hanging upon every tittle of the Scriptures.
There is nothing froward or perverſe in them] Some places of Scripture may ſeem to croſs other places, but they do only ſeem ſo. Men may think they are like the accuſers of Chriſt, never a one ſpeaking like the other; but thoſe that underſtand them, ſhall finde them like Nathan and Bathſheba, both ſpeaking the ſame things. The old Rabbins could not reconcile Eccleſiaſtes (ſome paſſages in it) to the reſt of the holy Scriptures, and had therefore ſome thoughts to conceal it from the people. But this was their weakneſs,Kabuenaki. and would have been their wickedneſs.
