Psalms116:13
Verſ. 13. I will take the cup of ſalvation] Calice[illegible: 1 letter] ſalut[illegible: 2 letters], vel omnis ſalutis, Vatab. Trem. as in the drink-offerings, or as at the feaſt after the peace-offerings, ſee (1 Chron. 16.3.) wherein the feaſt-maker was wont to take a feſtival great cup; and in lifting it up to declare the occaſion of that feaſt, and then, in teſtimony of thankfulneſs, to drink thereof to the gueſts, that they in order might pledge him. This was called a cup of ſalvation, or a health-cup, but not in the Drunkards ſenſe. Ʋatab. To this the Apoſtle ſeemeth to allude, 1 Cor. 10.17. when hee calleth the ſacramentall cup, the cup of bleſſing. Heirom rendreth it, calicum Jeſu accipium.
And call upon the name of the Lord] Pray unto him, and ſo praiſe him. Or I will proclaim, and preach his praiſes, as 1 Pet. 2.[illegible: 1 letter].
