36 Seeing then that these things cannot be spoken against, ye ought to be quiet, aed to do nothing rashly.

He did more cunningly than honestly endeavour to evade their clamour, and still their rage, by telling them (how fallaciously soever) that neither Paul, or any other Christian or Jew, had [illegible: 1 span] with their goddess or worship.
